Architecture Studio 1 Project 2: The Space Between

Project Description:
As you have probably noticed, Light Rail is coming to University of New South Wales. There will be two stops at the Kensington campus; the Lower Campus stop on Anzac Parade will be located adjacent to the main pedestrian entrance at ‘University Mall’.
Procedure:
1. The structure was initially based on the practice of axonometric drawing (45 degree angle) of 5 intersecting rectangles.
2. From the axonometric drawing, the Artisan Tools in SketchUp was used to extract the curve from the surface which results in a mesh.
3. The mesh was then developed in Rhino3D with a plug-in Grasshopper for script writing to execute parametric curve and design. The roof rib cage structure-like was created with a Grasshopper script
4. Decorations for interior and environment were imported from SketchUp 3D Warehouse to give life to the architecture
5. Rendering was done on Lumion with trees and people added
Thank you Rob Asher for being a great tutor throughout this process and friends who had been supporting and helping out with in making this light rail stop come to life
